The Maiden Voyage

Here at The Bluest Note we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are lovers of Jazz music, as well as just about all other honest forms of self-expression. We are going to focus on Jazz but will occasionally introduce you to some other stuff as well, be it rock, funk, etc. We hope you provide us with feedback as you get to know us and let us know what we are doing right and what needs a tweak.

The first track I am going to offer you is not an obscure one at all...it is probably the most well known cut from Cannonball Adderley's 1958 album "Somethin Else." His version of "Autumn Leaves" has always been one of my favorite recordings of all time and the performance by Cannonbal, Miles Davis, Hank Jones, Sam Jones, and Art Blakey is pure fire...fully of passion yet beautifully melodic; exactly how I like my Jazz.
